As the weather cools, the first day for lighting the log burner arrives in the period cottage. It does make it feel cosy and very romantic though. So here is to lots more days of lighting the log burner again before, that Spring Sun breaks through in the distant future.

The taste of summer sun, in those blackberries once turned into a crumble were yummy !

Changing colours

Oh with a blink of an eye the colours change.

Blackberry compote

Once we picked the juicy blackberries, we chopped some apples popped them in a pan with a couple of dessert spoons of sugar, after just a few minutes the apples were joined by the blackberries for only a few more minutes and then left them to cool with the pan lid on/
