Deck The Halls The phrase Deck the halls came from the carol we all know and love. Believed to be Welsh, from a tune called "Nos Galon" in the sixteenth century. The first known publication of the lyrics is 1881 and the author is unknown but thought to be American, although J.P McCaskey is sometimes wrongly credited.
